It’s been a while since I blogged… so much has been going on but really that is no excuse. Although losing my dad last year was a major blow…
So… back in September I moved into my new studio with fellow artist and excellent buddy Helen Woodcock. The old wooden conservatory in which I used to work was condemned during the Covid years and plans began for a much more ambitious building. This was completed and the keys were handed over in September 2022. I found the space tricky in the beginning. It certainly had the wow factor, but as a working space I felt it lacked the charm and quirkiness of the old place. Helen and I have been working hard to make the space work in a practical way to suit our needs, and I think, finally, we are nearly there… just a few more tweaks required.
The test for our studio is upon us as we attempt to turn the space into an exciting gallery space for the upcoming Warwickshire Open Studios (June 17th – July 2nd). We plan to be open everyday and look forward to welcoming plenty of visitors. We are in a beautiful location, with a car park, cafes and pubs nearby, and a fabulous park with a lake for picnicking… and a castle too!
So do come and visit if you live in and around Warwickshire and Coventry. We plan to be open between 10am – 4.30pm. The building is extraordinary and worth a visit… hopefully the work on show will also impress and delight! We will be working the whole while but are happy to be distracted… artists excel at distraction of any kind, so feel free to chat and ask questions. We will also be doing art classes from September and information will be available from the studio.
